Western Cape weddings are like mini vacations for your guests who attend them. Let’s be honest, they take a lot of planning if your guests are coming down from other parts of South Africa like Gauteng, Limpopo or Mpumalanga.
And as guests, who do appreciate them more due to the panning involved. Getting babysitters for the weekend, or pet sitters. Finding accommodation, taking time of work, planning the trip down to the winelands. We love it because… mini vacation.
Yes we are there to suuport you on your special day, but we also love it for ourselves.
These are normally the more memorable weddings due to the traveling involved and the beautiful scenary that the Western Cape has to offer. Yes there are people who prefer to fly down for the weekend. I prefer to drive down and enjoy the whole trip down from Pretoria to the destination. Especially when you take the N1 through the Karoo.
Along the road there is so much to see and take in. So many photo oppurtunities for your Instagram of Facebook stories. I also love the small little shops next to the road where you can just take a breather.
A Western Cape wedding also leaves you with stories to tell over the years. Not only for the guests but also for the family of the bride and groom. After the month of planning the wedding is a time where they can all relaxe and just enjoy the night in the company of new family members.
Nothing beats the breakfast the next morning and perhaps a trip to one of the farms nearby for a wine tasting and late lunch before heading back to our lives.
It is an will always remain a mini vacation. Or perhaps it is only people who come from Gauteng who feel that way. Nevertheless, we appreciate it.
